Hello! I want to share three Tibet items with you. 1. We are pleased to announce that we will once again coordinate a "March for Tibet's Independence" with the close assistance of the Regional Tibetan Youth Congress of New York and New Jersey and the Tibetan Association of Philadelphia. This 100+ mile walk starts on June 27th at China's Consulate in New York and concludes on July 4th at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The conclusion of this walk coincides with the U.S. celebration of "Independence Day." It is highly symbolic for our walk to end at Independence Hall as it is considered the birthplace of the United States. The U.S. Declaration of Independence was adopted in this Hall, as was the U.S. Constitution. The Liberty Bell is housed in this Hall. This Bell was rung to announce the first public reading of the Declaration of Independence. Participants in this year's walk will express their desire for Tibet's independence when they arrive at the Liberty Bell. Jigme Norbu (son of Taktser Rinpoche and nephew of His Holiness The Dalai Lama) will once again participate as a way to further His father's lifelong effort to regain Tibet's independence. Information about our upcoming walk will be posted on www.rangzen.org in the next few days. Details about how you can purchase our walk t-shirt will also be posted on this site. 2. If you are interested in submitting a brief article (no more than 500 words) for publication in the Spring-Summer issue of Rangzen Voice, please send it by June 1 to Rangzen@aol.com. 3. May 17th marks the 12th year since China abducted Gendhun Choekyi Nyima (The Panchen Lama), His family, Chadrel Rinpoche, Chamba Chung, and the other Monks involved in the discovery of this important religious leader. As a result, I want to respectfully encourage you to take action on behalf of these individuals, and also on behalf of Tenzin Delek Rinpoche. You can do this by sending an email from this website: www.rangzen.org/new/campaign.php This email will go to Ambassador Zhang Yiyue of The People's Republic of China's Embassy in Brussels, Belgium. Please send your message from today until May 22. Tashi Delek!
